MANAGUA — In the event that you don’t count the sluggish beginning, Group Canada dealt with Nicaragua to take out its second win in as many games at the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 Qualifiers on Monday night.

Driven by power forward Jackson Rowe’s 19 points, Canada squashed Nicaragua 88-46 to improve to 2-0 in Gathering C. Canada had beaten Nicaragua 96-51 in their most memorable meeting on Friday.

On Monday, Canada got off to an unstable beginning and called a break trailing roger that. The fast group seemed to quiet the Canadians down as they traveled to victory after that.

Aaron Best added 16 points for Canada, which drove 25-15 after the principal quarter and 42-26 at halftime.

Kadre Dim, Kalif Youthful, Phil Scrubb and Thomas Kennedy all scored eight points for Canada.

Jared Ruiz drove Nicaragua with 11 points, while Romario Ponce had eight.

Pool C comprises of Canada, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Mexico. Each group will play every rival in their gathering twice under a “home and away” design during three windows, which will occur in February and November 2024 and then in February 2025.

The FIBA AmeriCup 2025 will be held at the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in Managua, Nicaragua from Aug. 23-31, 2025.
